Software

There's a 94% chance your computer has Windows by Microsoft. The program is called an OS (operating system) because it…well, operates the system! Originally, it was an interface to let you communicate with your computer without typing DOS commands.

Not all software is for making your computer work. There are games and add-ons that make your personal computer fun and easy; based on your own personal definitions!

Hardware

It's the parts and pieces and wires that makeup a computer. AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) and Intel are the big two cpu makers and Intel's Core 2 Duo is the current leader. LCD monitors have matured and prices have dropped. Surely you have a 20" screen by now, right?

Accessories

USB is a type of interface (and connector) that allows us to plug things into our PC without shutting down first. It's great to plug my card reader/thumb drive in and transfer pictures without looking around for a wire or adapter first! Webcams, printers, hard drives and steering wheels; the list goes on.
